Performing Arts Academy, Ages 13-18

This year FOOTLIGHT continues its Performing Arts Academy. The academy provides studio experiences for teens who want to develop their theatrical abilities.

PRODUCTIONS:

Academy teens will be cast or given production responsibilities on one of two shows performed on the final weekend of the program.  The shows will be directed by one of the Footlight Company's professional directors.

WORKSHOPS:

Workshops are provided in areas of interest such as Acting Shakespeare, Auditioning, Improvisation, Stage Movement and Combat, Scenic Art, Stage Lighting, Dance Styles, Play Writing, and Character Development.

A typical day:

9:00 arrival
9:00-9:30 company activities and warm ups
9:30-12:00 workshops

noon: lunch break/activities
1:00-3:30 rehearsals
3:30-4:00 journal writing and discussion
4:00 dismissal

Adjustments to the schedule are possible, and may be arranged to may be arranged during the first days of the program.
