FLYER
INFORMATION
This site
has been set up for Fine Arts faculty, staff, and students to use in order to
produce official flyers promoting departmentally sponsored events. In order
to promote a consistent image to the performing arts audiences of the region,
it is imperative that these are the only flyers used for primary departmental
events in music, theater, and dance. Here is how it works:
- Choose the flyer
you wish to use by clicking on the corresponding thumbnail below.
- If you do not have
the proper software plug-in needed to view the document (Adobe Acrobat
Reader 4.0-or higher), it is available free by going to Adobe
Acrobrat. After you install, you will need to restart your browser (Netscape,
Explorer, etc.). If you have an older version of Adobe Acrobat, you MUST
UPGRADE to
Acrobat Reader 4.0 (or higher) in order for the flyer to print properly.
- There are fields
within each flyer that are designated for specific information and type
size as indicated. At this point, you have two options: 1) You can select
the copy in each field and retype the pertinent information and then print
it off; or 2) delete all the information, print it off, and then enter information
on your own software and run the flyer through your printer to get the look
you want.
- To get from one field
to the next, you can tab or place your cursor.
- If you would like a
new design that can be used on an ongoing basis and has special graphics,
please email Hank Knerr, giving a three-week
notice. Please let us know, as well, if there are any needs for other flyers.
- Whatever you do to
change a document, it will be for you alone. Once you quit Adobe
Acrobat and return to that same document, it will revert back to the original
format.
- On all flyers, double
check to make sure you have included the basic who, what, where, and
when.
- Events that are part
of a series: Theater-by-the-Grove/Dance Theater, Music Theater, and
Performance Plus wil continue to have posters automatically generated by
the Public Events Office.
- For required and
suggested phrasing for things like ticket sales, disclaimers, and funding,
- These flyers are to
be used only for departmentally-sponsored events. Any other use is
prohibited.
Flyer Distribution
If you would like the
Fine Arts Public Events office to distribute the flyers, please send an original
over to 104 Waller Hall. We will copy the flyer and distribute them on campus.
We will need the original at least TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE. As a general rule
of thumb, it is best to have flyers up 7-10 days prior to the event.
Feedback
Your comments and suggestions
for making this page more useful and easier to use will be appreciated. Just
email Hank Knerr.
Press Releases
If you would like our
office to distribute a press release for your event, please email or send
the information AT LEAST THREE WEEKS IN ADVANCE to Hank
Knerr. Your message should include the basic who, what, when, and where
along with any biographical or program note information that would be of interest
to the readers. If you have any quality photographs, please send them to the
Public Events Office, 104 Waller, at the same time.
