General Procedures and
Information
for applying for admission to IUP.
The Department of Music at Indiana University of
Pennsylvania offers three degree programs at the
undergraduate level; B.A. in Music; B.F.A. in Performance and B.S.Ed in Music Education. In addition, the College of Fine Arts offers a B.A. degree
in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts with tracks in Musical Theater and Dance
Arts. Information about these
programs can be found at the links below:
Students wishing to enroll in the Department of Music at IUP
need to follow the procedure below:
1.
Apply
to the University.
Prospective students must be accepted to the
university at-large before an audition will be granted by the Department of
Music. Contact IUP's Office of Admissions
(application
procedures) for university application information.
2.
Return
Audition Information Form.
Once students have been
admitted by the university, an audition invitation letter and audition
information form will be sent. Please fill out and return this form as
soon possible.
The Department of Music automatically
assigns an audition date to each student and this date will be included with
the invitation letter. Students
may request an alternate date by contacting Ms. Vickie Morganti
( 724-357-2391 / vicmrgnt@iup.edu
) no later than one week prior to
the assigned audition date.
3.
Attend Scheduled Audition (Fine Arts Day)
Specific information (itinerary, parking
information, map, etc.) about the audition day will be mailed to students after
receipt of the completed audition information form. Please plan to attend all of the events listed in the
itinerary. Typically, the audition
day begins around 8:30 am and concludes at approximately 3:00 pm.
