IUP CHORALE
| The IUP Chorale is a select mixed chorus dedicated to the study and performance of masterworks of choral literature. Founded in 1961, the Chorale has achieved distinction as one of the finest choral ensembles in Pennsylvania, performing for the Eastern Convention of the American Choral Directors Association (Boston), in Carnegie Hall with the Brooklyn Philharmonic (New York), under the direction of Andre Previn with the Pittsburgh Symphony, and for the worship services in Mozart's cathedral--the Salzburger Dom (Austria). On April 2nd, the Chorale and Keystone Winds will perform an all-Stravinsky program including the Mass and the Symphony of Psalms. On April 28th, the Chorale, Chamber Singers, and chamber orchestra will join to sing Franz Tuma's Mass in C and Mozart's Vespers. The Chorale rehearses each M-W-F from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. in Cogswell Hall Room 120. Chorale is offered for one credit (MUSC 122 001). |
